I heard a couple of Canon cameras in the past, but I never really loved any of them. We were waiting for my SD550 after year, and I have had brief experience with a SD750, which is technologically superior, but I found it intuitive to use.
I bought the SD780IS for a great trip, and wow, I had a great experience with him. This camera is small, thin, really ultra-compact. The best quality of my thoughts that focuses fast, I like the facial recognition feature, helps with focus, and low-light zoom function and powers of incredible blew my mind
Moreover, taking pictures of people under the most difficult scenes, we spent our time photographing cathedrals, both of which were dark and detailed. This camera on the highest quality setting is really the trick. I ended up with almost like a pair of binoculars are the details of stained glass and statues examine later.
Three speed limits: First, no, I explored the video function, which appears at first sight quite well with the setting of the highest quality. Secondly, the trigger is in a place a little 'embarrassing, but I'm used to it. Thirdly, the brushed silver finish quickly started, a little 'discoloration where my fingers wrapped around the front.
Overall, though, this camera offers incredible functionality and value. I finally fall on a Canon. Invest in a large memory card (8 GB gives me more than 2000 pictures) and enjoy the best quality!

| Review by Gail Lee Mac (Portland, OR United States) 2010-07-28 I have a significant amount of Nikon Pro level equipment and do some commercial photography. I wanted a P&S that was around $200 that could be used as a travel camera. I have not used any of the scene modes, but the Intelligence mode and the aperture and shutter modes work extremely well. The zoom and stabilization work very well. Mos... Read more reviews | ||

| Review by Larry (USA) 2010-07-23 I've had other similar Panasonic cameras and been pleased with all of them. I'm looking for snapshots, not high art and this does what it does very well. I particularly like the wide angle, which, until recently, has only been available on much more expensive cameras. Panasonic has more competition now from cameras with similar features, but it is ...
